Research and Resources

How can a professional theatre performance become a life-saving training tool on a college campus? This collaborative research project by Victoria Walters and Ms. Donna Bradby explores using the powerful production Mad at Miles: A Black Woman’s Guide to Truth to combat sexual assault and domestic violence. By moving beyond the stage, this initiative teaches students how to recognize the ten early warning signs of abuse and challenges men to become active advocates for societal change.

Featuring student testimonials and survey data from North Carolina A&T, this presentation outlines a new roadmap for using performance art to build a “bridge of trust” between students and university administration.
